The United States District Court, District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands' new schedule of Attorney Admission Fees (see General Order No. 17-00005) and revised Local Rules will take effect on November 1, 2017.
As a reminder to counsel, the new Local Rules include a change, among many other revisions, to courtroom attire requirements. The revised LR 83.4(e) provides:
PROPER ATTIRE. All attorneys appearing in open court must be suitably dressed. Minimum acceptable dress for male practitioners will consist of a jacket, dress shirt, necktie, dress slacks, socks and shoes. Minimum acceptable dress for female practitioners will consist of a dress or suit, slacks or skirt and blouse, and shoes. The Court may refuse to hear attorneys whose appearance does not conform to this Rule.
