Magistrate Judge Responsibilities
Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona has appointed Heather L. Kennedy to serve as the first-ever Magistrate Judge for the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands. Kennedy took her oath of office during a public investiture ceremony on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 with judicial officials, bar members, family and friends in attendance. As Clerk of Court/Part-time Magistrate Judge, Kennedy becomes only the third in the nation to hold this combined position.
