Court to Remain Open for Duration
of Government Shutdown
In General Order 13-00006 issued on October 15, 2013, Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona ordered that the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands will remain open and operational beyond October 17, 2013 and for the duration of the government shutdown. The court and the clerk's office will continue to perform essential functions with staff reporting to work. The court will adhere to its published calendar for criminal and civil cases, although the court may show flexibility when warranted by circumstances. Certain administrative functions and services, which are not case related, may be affected.
